Responsibilities

Monitor and improve shop floor safety, eliminating unsafe processes
Assure fixtures, tooling, and processes are followed to meet production schedules
Determine priorities and sequences of jobs
Schedule and prioritize constrained resources, adjusting staff to meet flow and customer requirements
Determine and execute disciplinary action when appropriate
Ensure production material is procured and distributed to meet production schedules
Increase production efficiency through continuous improvement and waste elimination
Determine overtime needs and priorities when resources are insufficient
Ensure preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule
Identify and lead deployment of workforce training
Actively deploy section value stream improvements using Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma
Develop and deploy standard work for each work area
Practice and coach Caterpillar Production System (CPS) guiding principles
