Requirements
- Enough scientific experience to understand Arcadia's general research aims across a broad range of topics and scientific disciplines
- Minimum of one year professional experience in writing and editing science or other technically-focused communication
- Firm understanding of basic research ecosystem and biotech sector (e.g., venture capital)
- Editorial experience with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to contextualize research and make it understandable to the public without deep expertise, using a conversational tone
Responsibilities
- Work directly with co-founders to prepare written updates on science and business by drafting copy
- Provide high-level feedback on structure and organization of written updates
- Maintain a firm grasp of Arcadia's publishing experiment and business model to help ideate and iterate on written communications
- Write for clarity while ensuring scientific and historical accuracy
- Be involved at the outset of planning new posts in partnership with analysts and co-founders, preparing early drafts, and incorporating feedback
