Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct services to youth within the Youth Detention Facility (YDF), building trust and relationships with youth, probation officers, and service providers
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Department of Rehabilitation for youth in the facility, ensuring timely identification, referrals, and engagement
  • Collaborate with Probation and education staff to identify youth qualifying for Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) or DOR services
  • Conduct outreach, orientations, and one-on-one meetings to introduce the program and encourage participation
  • Build rapport with youth using trauma-informed and strengths-based communication
  • Provide individualized case management, including assessment, planning, and coordination of education, vocational, and supportive services
  • Develop personalized Navigator Service Plans outlining goals, interests, and steps toward education and employment
  • Maintain consistent communication with youth to monitor progress, address barriers, and support transitions
  • Document all services, plans, progress notes, case notes, activities, and outcomes in Amity’s Apricot data system
  • Coordinate and facilitate Work-Based Learning (WBL) opportunities within the detention facility
  • Partner with educators, vocational instructors, and local employers to develop hands-on learning experiences aligned with youth interests and Individualized Plans for Employment (IPE)
  • Implement job readiness workshops, career exploration, and simulated or supervised work experiences
  • Record all WBL participation, progress, and outcomes in Amity’s Apricot system
