Experience or training in youth engagement, case management, and workforce development preferred (implied by role responsibilities)

Familiarity with Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) services, eligibility, and referrals
Proficiency in documenting in data management systems like Amity’s Apricot
Ability to collaborate with probation officers, education staff, service providers, educators, vocational instructors, and local employers
Capability to gather documentation such as IEPs, 504 Plans, or medical records

Responsibilities

Provide direct services to youth within the Youth Detention Facility (YDF), building trust and relationships with youth, probation officers, and service providers
Serve as the primary point of contact for the Department of Rehabilitation for youth in the facility, ensuring timely identification, referrals, and engagement
Collaborate with Probation and education staff to identify youth qualifying for Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) or DOR services
Conduct outreach, orientations, and one-on-one meetings to introduce the program and encourage participation
Build rapport with youth using trauma-informed and strengths-based communication
Provide individualized case management, including assessment, planning, and coordination of education, vocational, and supportive services
Develop personalized Navigator Service Plans outlining goals, interests, and steps toward education and employment
Maintain consistent communication with youth to monitor progress, address barriers, and support transitions
Document all services, plans, progress notes, case notes, activities, and outcomes in Amity’s Apricot data system
Coordinate and facilitate Work-Based Learning (WBL) opportunities within the detention facility
Partner with educators, vocational instructors, and local employers to develop hands-on learning experiences aligned with youth interests and Individualized Plans for Employment (IPE)
Implement job readiness workshops, career exploration, and simulated or supervised work experiences
Record all WBL participation, progress, and outcomes in Amity’s Apricot system
