Workday HCM Configuration Specialist

Candidates must have experience implementing enterprise management solutions such as Workday, PeopleSoft, or SAP, and possess proven experience in requirements gathering, design, prototyping, testing, and deploying solutions. Subject matter expertise in the respective functional area, proactive problem-solving abilities, and a passion for exceptional client service are essential. The role requires proven experience managing multiple clients simultaneously, balancing competing priorities, and delivering consistent results, along with strong communication and presentation skills. A commitment to staying current with Workday updates, trends, and best practices through ongoing training is necessary. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, are required. Current Workday certification in HCM Core is highly preferred, or prior Workday experience in HCM, Benefits, Recruiting, Advanced Compensation, Talent, and/or Learning is necessary. Minimal travel is required, with willingness to travel on-site if needed.
The HCM Principal Consultant will guide clients through post-production Workday phases, ensuring seamless transitions and optimized utilization of Workday capabilities. Responsibilities include identifying strategies, risks, and options while recommending approaches and mitigations to meet client/functional requirements. The consultant will collaborate with functional teams and vendors to configure and test solutions, ensuring no impact to production environments. They will perform multiple tasks under limited direction, keeping clients, project teams, and Engagement Managers informed of progress and changes. Becoming a Workday functional expert with deep knowledge across HCM modules and future product direction is expected. The role involves mentoring fellow consultants and analysts, driving projects or tickets by recommending best practices, and meeting utilization goals. Responsibilities also include contributing to post-production internal initiatives, executing day-to-day Workday project activities, and supporting business development activities such as proposal development. Active participation in update training and internal knowledge sharing is also required.
