Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent training preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, body shop operations, or production launch support
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-shift coordination and stakeholder engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to identify gaps, implement process improvements, and drive throughput efficiency
  • Skilled in analyzing operational data and facilitating corrective actions during launch phases
  • Must be willing to work on any shift on a rotation basis, including weekends (3 shift operation)
  • Knowledge of computer software as it pertains to the manufacturing process
  • Process validation experience with new equipment build, installation and start-up (preferred)
  • Knowledge of joining processes including welding (Resistance spot, MIG braze, Aluminum Spot welding), sealer & adhesive applications, clinch & rivet applications, drawn arc stud welding, projection nut/stud welding (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Complete all GMS (Global Manufacturing System) audits & requirements
  • Actively implement safety & housekeeping standards (WPO)
  • Complete all FIFO (First In – First Out) audits & requirements
  • Exceed BPD SPQRCE & BIQ4 requirements
  • Support TIP (Throughput Improvement Process) as needed
  • Organize, execute, & follow up all necessary work needed for weekend completion in areas of assignment
  • Keep management informed of developments as they occur & escalate as required
  • Implement divisional & Corporate policies
  • Comply with the terms of local & national labor agreements
  • Maintain corporate & unit management control systems & department records
  • Pay personnel in time keeping systems (KRONOS or other) daily
  • Maintain, implement and continuously improve process control methods for the body shop welding, fastening, sealing & adhesive applications
  • Maintain database of all non-conforming joining problems
  • Maintain weld equipment with yearly certifications
  • Maintain and update all weld tool information sheets
  • Maintain Audit Certification for Body Shop
  • Provide plant floor troubleshooting, training and problem solving to root cause analysis
  • Propose and evaluate manufacturing processes and equipment for assigned areas
  • Be a technical resource for manufacturing engineers, skilled trades and production teams
  • Provide a safe work environment & comply with all policies
  • Work with engineering & production teams for quality, warranty & cost improvement activities
  • Coordinate input from internal/external customers to meet customer needs and/or perceptions
  • Cover maintenance areas as required, including weekend rotations
  • Assist with Joining & Dispense Launch activities as needed
  • Supervise a small to medium team of hourly employees in the body shop
  • Ensure successful implementation of processes during product launches
