Requirements

  • Some technical knowledge and ability to follow standard work and procedures
  • Experience in using power tools helpful
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily (including welding on outdoor power equipment, reading and interpreting blueprints, using jigs and weld fixtures, and welding methods)

Responsibilities

  • Assists supervisor with training of new employees, including reading and interpreting Exmark blueprints, clean up and care of weld equipment and weld booth, and in use of jigs and weld fixtures and welding methods
  • Carries out a first-piece inspection at the beginning of and midway through the shift
  • Assists welders with questions regarding weld equipment
  • Periodically checks for quality (splatter, porosity, etc.) as directed by supervisor
  • Helps out wherever needed to keep things moving
  • Substitutes for absent employees in a work cell or booth (may be required to do this during a full shift)
  • Assists and fills-in for the supervisor as needed
  • Actively looks for opportunities to improve methods, material flow, safety and the work environment
  • May be required to help out in other areas or departments needed to keep the value stream moving
  • Perform and complete welding duties and responsibilities on a variety of different types of outdoor power equipment
