Requirements
- High School Degree or Equivalent
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- Valid State of Florida Class "C" Drinking Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators license (dual certification in Water and Wastewater preferred)
- Ability to make sound decisions in process control, follow instructions, and adhere to safety procedures
- Successful completion of background check, pre-placement physical, and drug screen
- Reliable and dependable attendance
- Availability for standby duty, on-call rotations, evenings, weekends, holidays, emergency events, and alarm call-outs
- Flexibility for extended shifts to meet seasonal demands
Responsibilities
- Monitor water/wastewater treatment plant processes and equipment manually and via SCADA automation, adjusting as necessary
- Perform water quality sampling, testing, and analysis to ensure compliance with federal, state, and EPA standards
- Operate, maintain, control, and perform routine repairs on plant equipment, including preventive maintenance
- Utilize software programs for maintenance work orders and maintain all necessary records
- Perform general maintenance duties of the plant and other assigned duties
- Participate in daily operations and maintenance of 5 Water and 2 Wastewater Treatment Facilities as directed by the Project Manager and Chief Operator
