Requirements

  • Preferably possess a minimum of Connecticut Class 1 Treatment and Class 2 Distribution Operator Licenses – or the ability to acquire these licenses within 2 years
  • 1-3 years’ experience in the water treatment and distribution industry preferred
  • A valid State of Connecticut motor vehicle operator's license
  • Working knowledge of the principles, procedures, methods, equipment, materials, and tools employed in the operation and maintenance of Water Treatment and Distribution Systems
  • Proficiency with computers, including an ability to work with: SCADA, Microsoft Word, Excel, Maintenance Management Programs, and other site-specific systems
  • Thorough knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions involved in water treatment work
  • Knowledge of computer applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment

Responsibilities

  • Regularly participates in the daily operations and maintenance of the Water Treatment and Distribution facility as directed by the Plant Manager
  • Daily process monitoring and comprehensive maintenance system to maintain 100% compliance
  • Works M-F between the hours of 0700-1600
  • Rotates a 7 day on call coverage schedule
