Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
1+ years of wastewater experience preferred
Basic computer skills with knowledge of Word and Excel
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Must complete a stormwater training program selected by site management within thirty days
Must complete "Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume I" and "Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume II" correspondence courses through California State University Sacramento within twelve months
Must obtain the lowest grade certification within twelve months or as required by state regulations
Valid driver's license
Required to obtain higher levels of certification and training up to Level A at this facility
Must meet and maintain minimum qualification levels as required by state regulations
Ability to lift heavy objects (50-75 pounds)
Ability to climb and descend stairs or ladders
Ability to work in unsanitary conditions
Ability to handle hazardous chemicals

Responsibilities

Operating a wastewater analysis laboratory
Managing wastewater collection systems
Operating and maintaining wastewater pre-treatment and full treatment systems
Handling other types of water or wastewater treatment systems
Collecting samples for analysis in compliance with EPA, state, and health department regulations
Performing chemical analyses both in and out of the laboratory
Adjusting systems based on chemical analysis results
Making informed decisions to ensure regulatory compliance
Performing mathematical calculations using basic algebraic formulas and a calculator
Completing computerized reports and compiling information for monthly reports required by permits, state authorities, EPA, or corporate management
Utilizing basic organizational, mechanical, and electrical wiring skills
Communicating operational status to upper management
Maintaining operations logs
Performing maintenance on equipment
Operating a spotter truck and/or forklift
Performing groundskeeping, painting, and general housekeeping duties
Other duties as needed
