Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 12-15 years of experience in warehouse/logistics design and engineering roles
  • Proven track record in facility layout planning, automation design, and process engineering
  • Expertise in WMS/TMS platforms and their integration with engineered systems
  • ERP integration experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and simulation tools (e.g., AnyLogic, FlexSim) preferred
  • Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., OSHA, ANSI, ISO) and sustainability practices
  • Professional certifications such as PE (Professional Engineer), PMP, Six Sigma Black Belt, or similar are highly desirable
  • Experience with greenfield and brownfield warehouse projects
  • Familiarity with automation and robotics in warehouse settings
  • Familiarity with sustainable warehouse design and energy-efficient systems
  • Background in data-driven facility optimization and digital twin technologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work cross-functionally
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Willing to travel for extended periods of time
  • Passport and ability to travel throughout the US and Mexico is required
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
  • Combination of office, warehouse, and site-based work environments; may require domestic or international travel
  • Use of PPE may be required in active construction or operational zones
  • Must be able sit and/or stand for long periods of time, and work on a computer for extended periods
  • Valid Driver’s license in the state employed, must have acceptable driving record, and must have automobile liability insurance (when using a personal vehicle on Company business) OR have the ability to travel

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and engineering of new warehouse layouts, including racking systems, material flow, automation, and dock operations
  • Develop and implement logistics infrastructure strategies aligned with business growth, service level targets, and efficiency goals
  • Analyze material handling and storage solutions (e.g., AS/RS, conveyors, AGVs) to recommend and implement optimal configurations
  • Provide technical expertise on the integration of warehouse automation, robotics, and IoT technologies
  • Conduct/Lead capacity planning and simulation modeling for facility expansion or process redesign projects
  • Define engineering standards, equipment specifications, and safety guidelines for logistics operations
  • Evaluate and select engineering partners, third-party vendors, automation partners, and technology providers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Corporate Logistics, IT, Finance, Procurement, and external consultants
  • Support capital project development, budgeting, and ROI analysis for engineering initiatives
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies
  • Ensure warehouse and logistics designs are compliant with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
