Requirements

Experience leading multiple visual design projects, including ownership of coordination, execution (timelines, estimations, plans), and control of other designers
Client-facing experience, including leading presentations, communicating to discuss and finalize designs, negotiating deadlines, and meeting stakeholder expectations
Ability to analyze and solve moderately complex problems, create new solutions by leveraging/adapting existing methods
Understanding of strategic direction set by senior management as it relates to team goals
Comfort with ambiguity in a fluid organization
Proficiency in visual fundamentals and theory of design to create coherent, consistent, yet unique graphics
Ability to juggle multiple projects while managing timelines and expectations
Skill in justifying design decisions eloquently, explaining visual concepts from visual language and creative rationale, and pitching to teams/stakeholders engagingly

Responsibilities

Defines team workflow, roles, and tools and coordinates with management and development
Leads brainstorming sessions with the team and promotes team alignment
Creates templates/style guides for client brands through processes encouraging free thinking and creativity
Leads and manages production projects for new campaigns
Provides creative and art direction and accurate time estimations on design tasks
Leads client presentations
Communicates with clients to discuss and finalize the design of grids and layouts
Makes recommendations for improvements in reports, tools, processes, and assigned tasks pertinent to design capability
Negotiates deadline changes when needed due to changes in client requirements
Proactively identifies and mitigates risks and assigns appropriate owners to prevent issues and enhance performance
Identifies ways for team members to better engage in knowledge-sharing and collaboration across teams
Shares best practices and lessons learned
Promotes need for innovation in the team and influences team members to provide suggestions to improve work processes and enhance results
Establishes, develops, and guides relationships with team members and stakeholders
Raises questions and concerns keeping the team’s objectives in mind and works towards solutions that enhance team performance
Proactively identifies business opportunities within the vertical
Develops and promotes skills in related areas to benefit team/organization
