Requirements

High School or GED Equivalent
South Dakota Central Registry of Child Abuse and Neglect background checks and maintain a record of no court findings, convictions, or substantiated reports of child abuse and/or neglect
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work the hours specified (PRN, as needed)

Maintain confidentiality

Comply with safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., CMS, The Joint Commission, DHHS, OSHA)

Responsibilities

Provide safe supervision during child-parent visitations
Facilitate the safe exchange of children from one parent to the other
Safely transport children to and from supervised visitation appointments as needed
Observe and document interactions between participating adults and children
Conduct interventions during visitation per program guidelines to ensure safety of all participants
Complete forms and documentation (e.g., Observation/Connection forms, cancellation of visits, contact logs, incident reports)
Assure safety of clients and staff by enforcing Agency policies
Review client-related documentation and distribute to applicable referral sources or others involved
Assist with agency record keeping
Ensure proper use and adherence to child safety restraint devices and laws during transport
Communicate with clients, children, and community professionals in a customer-friendly manner
Assist in general operations of development, billing, and scheduling when needed
