Requirements

  • High School or GED Equivalent
  • South Dakota Central Registry of Child Abuse and Neglect background checks and maintain a record of no court findings, convictions, or substantiated reports of child abuse and/or neglect
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Ability to work the hours specified (PRN, as needed)

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe supervision during child-parent visitations
  • Facilitate the safe exchange of children from one parent to the other
  • Safely transport children to and from supervised visitation appointments as needed
  • Observe and document interactions between participating adults and children
  • Conduct interventions during visitation per program guidelines to ensure safety of all participants
  • Complete forms and documentation (e.g., Observation/Connection forms, cancellation of visits, contact logs, incident reports)
  • Assure safety of clients and staff by enforcing Agency policies
  • Review client-related documentation and distribute to applicable referral sources or others involved
  • Assist with agency record keeping
  • Ensure proper use and adherence to child safety restraint devices and laws during transport
  • Communicate with clients, children, and community professionals in a customer-friendly manner
  • Assist in general operations of development, billing, and scheduling when needed
