Requirements

Master’s degree in computer science and/or engineering
Experienced in enterprise software development: 7 - 9 years of hands-on Core Java experience
In-depth understanding of Java internals, memory and performance optimization and tools
Quantitative developer with practical experience working with numerical computer methods
Prior experience working in investment management industry
Ready to lead: Work experience where you were responsible for or owner of an application, project or component. Willingness and ability to provide tutoring and mentorship to less experienced team members
Familiar with Java, Python and SQL
Basic knowledge of calculus and linear algebra
Investment management business domain

Responsibilities

Designing new modules and APIs
Developing application servers that offer clients innovative methods for leveraging our analytics and models
Providing technical leadership to junior team members
Engaging with users and stakeholders to gather and refine external client requirements
Collaborating closely with quantitative researchers and product managers at BlackRock to fully understand business use cases and identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency on the newly developed platform
Contributing to the development of the next-generation portfolio risk analytics and modeling engine
Transforming the portfolio risk analytics platform into a more scalable and modular architecture
