Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
10+ years of experience in value engineering, product management, or a related field
At least 5 years in a leadership role
Deep understanding of industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes
Strong leadership and communication skills

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive vertical sales strategy that aligns with the overall go-to-market strategy and plans
Collaborate with product management, marketing, and sales teams to create compelling value propositions that resonate with target customers and differentiate offerings
Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning, using insights to inform product development and marketing strategies
Oversee customer engagement initiatives, ensuring the value engineering team effectively communicates product value and addresses customer pain points
Lead efforts to quantify the financial benefits of products for customers, including ROI and total cost of ownership analyses, to support sales efforts and customer decision-making
Work closely with product, sales, and marketing teams to ensure alignment on product offerings and value messaging
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of value engineering initiatives and their impact on sales and customer satisfaction
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by gathering feedback from customers and internal stakeholders to refine value propositions and enhance product offerings
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of value engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
Define and drive the execution of the vertical sales strategy, establish the IVE function, build a team of industry value engineers, build industry-specific value models, craft compelling narratives, and equip teams with content, tools, and assets required to win
