Requirements

Candidates should possess a Veterinary Technician license, with experience in surgical assisting preferred. A Veterinary Technician Specialty (VTS) certification in Internal Medicine or Cardiology is desirable, and a strong understanding of anesthetic protocols and surgical procedures is required.

Responsibilities

The Veterinary Technician will assist with general anesthesia and sedated procedures, set up CRIs and calculate medical math, place IV catheters and institute fluid therapy, position appropriately for radiographs and understand radiation safety, provide quality, compassionate care for hospitalized patients, and prepare and administer medications as directed by the veterinarian.
