Requirements

Educational background in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, biology, environmental studies, conservation, or related disciplines preferred
Reside within 50 miles of Chico or Oroville, CA
Proficient in electronic devices and documentation
Ability to work outdoors in a safety-sensitive role

Responsibilities

Perform circuit patrols in accordance with the annual VM plan, VM patrol standards, and processes
Identify required tree work along existing PG&E rights-of-way, prescribe tree work, and document inspections
Notify property owners/agencies when tree work will occur and obtain necessary authorizations
Act as VM contact for new business and re-construction work requested by the energy delivery organization
Perform work verification inspections to verify inspection and tree work completion and quality
Investigate and document tree-related outages and attend outage meetings as requested
Handle a variety of VM tags, including tracking, field checking, prescribing work, notifying customers, and assisting in close-out of cases from Electric Corrective notifications, Gas OCW notifications, Customer Care & Billing cases, or as assigned
Support emergency response, such as dispatching tree crews, field checking sites, first responder, and by agreements
Independently complete tasks assigned by the supervisor
Support oversight of vegetation projects, including field operations such as tree assessment and trimming
Participate in contractor safety and tailboard meetings
Act as a customer relations representative on behalf of PG&E
Provide support and coordination between contractors, communities, agencies, first responders, and PG&E workgroups/stakeholders
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including annual permits, encroachment permits, traffic control plans, railroad permits, Caltrans permits, and environmental protection measures
Patrol distribution or transmission circuits and prescribe work to be performed by PG&E’s tree contractor to ensure clearances
