Knowledge of automotive standards and customer requirements (e.g., DV/PV, environmental, mechanical, electrical, durability testing)
Experience in laboratory operations, safety (EHS), preventive maintenance, and calibration of test benches and instrumentation
Proficiency in building laboratory capabilities, infrastructure, and test benches for eMotors, inverters, and integrated Drive Modules (iDM’s)
Understanding of facility operations, including HVAC, compressed air, electrical systems, and collaboration with facility management/external contractors
Ability to track and report KPIs using tools like Power BI for lab efficiency, quality, and equipment utilization
Strong leadership in problem-solving validation test issues related to setup and equipment
Capability to manage projects in planning, development, test execution, and capital equipment procurement/installation
Excellent collaboration and communication skills for global and cross-functional teamwork
Responsibilities
Lead, guide, and develop teams of validation engineers and technicians in evaluation, implementation, and execution of Validation Tests for Automotive power electronics, electronics, and drive module assembly products
Lead development of new technology test capability and processes
Lead problem-solving of validation test issues relating to test setup and equipment
Develop and grow team competency to a high-performing organization
Plan and control budget
Manage day-to-day operations of the validation laboratory, ensuring personnel safety and EHS requirements
Build laboratory capabilities, including infrastructure and test benches for eMotors, inverters, and iDM’s
Develop and execute plans for components and systems testing according to automotive standards and customer requirements
Ensure proper planning and scheduling of preventive maintenance and calibration activities for test benches and instrumentation
Collaborate with facility management and external contractors for infrastructure upgrades, repairs, and utilities
Track and report KPIs for lab efficiency, quality, and equipment utilization using tools like Power BI
Manage all validation programs and projects in planning, development, and test execution
Plan and consolidate lab capital equipment procurement and installation
Develop an open and collaborative team culture with global cooperation across engineering teams and technical centers/plants
Work closely with engineering and non-engineering functions (e.g., Global Supply Management, Quality, Launch Management, Project Management) for safe product launches
Prepare and present high-level validation program status and organizational development plans to senior management
