Requirements

Must complete Lockout/Tagout training before training or operating line
Flexibility of wrists and hands
Ability to walk, bend, stand, lift up to 40 lbs. occasionally, stretch, climb, push, pull, and reach
Ability to work in hot and/or cold environments
Ability to work weekends and overtime
Ability to move to different lines and departments as needed
Ability to train and learn machine operator duties to serve as backup
Ability to train and learn lead duties to serve as backup
Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
General knowledge of all departments and jobs in the utility department, including general labor, machine operator, and lead
Must be able to perform the Machine Operators Training Checklist job tasks by the end of the 10-working day trial period

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to Tyson's policies and procedures
Work in different departments as needed (e.g., Tortilla, Taco, Corn, Packing)
Learn multiple jobs in the facility, including machine operator jobs
Operate equipment such as press, bagger, fryer, seasoner, blender, pack out, or sheeter per SOP in Production Manual
Prepare for start-up or shut down of equipment
Keep legible, accurate records, including Line Operator's Log
Stop machine to make adjustments, following lockout-tagout policy
Notify Supervisor and/or QA of contamination
Adhere to all safety policies and safely operate equipment
Monitor and report any wear and tear on equipment
Ensure product specifications meet customers' written specifications
Enter data into the Plant View system
Maintain good manufacturing practices and personal hygiene
Keep department clean and neat
Work as a team member toward task accomplishments
Follow company policies/procedures, written or verbal
Perform all other tasks as assigned
