Requirements

  • Ability to maintain quality, accuracy, and integrity of inventory by adhering to and documenting inventory control procedures (e.g., product strategies, auditing, testing pill cell performance, managing databases, troubleshooting, handling hazardous waste, processing recalls/expired stock)
  • Ability to enter prescription data into pharmacy software by reading prescriptions, translating information into system codes, transcribing data (e.g., drug name, strength, directions, prescriber details), and creating/modifying patient records
  • Ability to assist in prescription fulfillment under pharmacist supervision by identifying/selecting products, verifying size/strength/quantity, counting/measuring/mixing medications, entering expiration/lot numbers, labeling, packaging, and distributing
  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with Medicare/Medicaid policies, regulations, and procedures for processing orders, staying updated, researching, and documenting audits
  • Ability to maintain pharmacy's professional reputation by complying with local/state/federal laws and corporate policies, assisting in fulfillment, stocking/rotating merchandise, handling claims/returns, completing/securing documentation, working toward national certifications, shadowing technicians, and maintaining a safe/clean environment
  • Ability to monitor/resolve prescription fulfillment problems using pharmacy procedures (e.g., root cause analysis, insurance claims coordination, reprocessing claims, handling rejects/out-of-stock/partial fills, coordinating with IT/pharmacists)
  • Ability to complete work assignments using policies/data/resources, collaborating with others, prioritizing tasks, communicating progress, recommending improvements, and adapting to change/feedback
  • Commitment to company policies, procedures, ethics, integrity, Open Door Policy, and related action plans

Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory quality, accuracy, and integrity through adherence to control procedures, auditing, testing, database management, troubleshooting, waste disposal, and recall/expired stock processing
  • Enter prescription data into software systems accurately
  • Assist in fulfilling prescriptions under supervision: select/verify products, prepare medications, label/package/distribute
  • Comply with Medicare/Medicaid rules for order processing and documentation
  • Uphold pharmacy reputation by following laws/policies, stocking supplies, handling claims/returns/paperwork, pursuing certifications, shadowing technicians, and ensuring safe/clean environment
  • Monitor/resolve fulfillment issues: analyze root causes, coordinate insurance/IT, reprocess claims, alert patients, escalate to pharmacists
  • Complete assignments/priorities through collaboration, communication, and adaptation
  • Implement company policies, ethics, and action plans in business processes
