Requirements

  • Must meet state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, such as minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy
  • Must hold an active/valid national certification issued by Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy
  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • For full-time: Must be available to work 40 hours per week / 5 days per week, anytime between 7am–7pm (1st shift), 3pm–3am (2nd shift), or 10pm–10am (3rd shift), Sunday through Friday
  • For 3rd shift: Must be available to work between 10pm and 10am

Responsibilities

  • Maintains pharmacy systems and technology (e.g., inventory systems, automated medication counting machines) by preparing records and reports, monitoring inventory levels and expiration dates, calibrating machines, applying settings to pill/capsule specifications, ensuring replenishment using computer/scanner, and troubleshooting issues like jamming
  • Maintains and tracks medication inventory by sorting, placing, and storing freight, restocking/replenishing medications, reporting low stock, ensuring FIFO stock rotation, performing cycle counts, assisting with physical inventories, creating reports, and monitoring for expired pharmaceuticals
  • Supports facility with reporting and paperwork by entering/modifying pharmaceutical data, processing/submitting paperwork, creating/maintaining documentation and communications, resolving discrepancies, preparing reports (e.g., state board testing), and informing management of incorrect/inefficient processes
  • Promotes pharmacy's professional reputation and delivers products/services per local/state/federal laws and policies by assisting pharmacist in prescription fulfillment, stocking/rotating merchandise/supplies, handling claims/returns, completing/maintaining/securing documentation, and maintaining safe/clean work environment
  • Ensures fulfillment of pharmacy prescriptions in automated central fill pharmacy to meet production/quality goals by using scanner to identify/select pharmaceutical product and quantity for orders, and verifying size
