Requirements
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with individuals or groups (e.g., customers, suppliers, associates)
- Skills in completing work orders, records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents according to procedures
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment (e.g., lift trucks, pneumatic systems, material handling equipment, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, banana room equipment, electronic/electrical equipment)
- Ability to operate material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipment
- Proficiency in diagnosing refrigeration and electrical problems using technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, electronic/mechanical schematics) and diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeter, laptop)
- Knowledge of changing industrial batteries for power equipment, including removal/replacement of battery retention plates
- Ability to maintain (inspect, clean, repair) industrial equipment batteries according to procedures (e.g., tips, contacts, cables)
- Capability to assist other maintenance technicians in equipment repair and maintenance
- Skills in troubleshooting and repairing complex electrical/electronic problems with equipment networks, logic controls, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and external Input/Output (IO) devices
