Nurse Practitioner - Virtual Care

Position Overview

We are seeking board-certified Nurse Practitioners with broad clinical expertise and a passion for improving healthcare access and quality. In this role, you will deliver comprehensive virtual care to patients of all ages across a wide range of conditions, while working closely with our provider and support teams. This is a great opportunity for a clinician with at least 3 years of experience in high-volume Urgent Care or Primary Care settings. This is a Modified Full-Time role (32 hours/week) reporting to the Urgent Care Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct age-appropriate history and virtual exams.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of conditions across the lifespan.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Develop and document treatment plans in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Manage acute, chronic, and mental health conditions for pediatric and adult patients.
  • Request consultation or referral with other healthcare providers when appropriate.
  • Counsel and educate patients and families on treatment plans.
  • Maintain current knowledge of clinical best practices and evidence-based care.
  • Provide cross-coverage for tasks such as reviewing lab results.
  • Offer scheduling flexibility, including evenings and weekends.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Master’s or Doctoral-level Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program, with prior graduation from an accredited nursing school.
  • Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license with maintained Registered Nurse (RN) licensure, in accordance with state requirements.
  • Current national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner through AANP or ANCC.
  • Active RN compact license.
  • Active multi-state licensure (5+ licenses preferred).
  • Minimum 3+ years of post-training experience in high-volume Urgent Care or Primary Care settings.
  • Experience providing care to newborns through adult populations.
  • Ability to function within an integrated medical practice.
  • Strong clinical acumen and ability to manage a broad range of conditions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and patient engagement skills.
  • Proficiency with technology and electronic medical records.
  • Maintain active Medicare status - In good standing with Medicare/Medicaid and not excluded from participation in federal health programs.
  • Currently unable to consider candidates residing in the following states: AL, IN, GA, MN, MS, MO, OK, SC, or TN.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior telemedicine or video-based virtual care experience.
  • Experience with Athena EMR.

Contractual Scheduling Requirements (Modified Full-Time: 32 hrs/wk min)

  • Annual Hours: 1,664 hours
  • Weekday Evening Shifts: 8 evening hours scheduled between 5 pm - 11 pm in the clinician’s time zone.
  • Weekend Shifts: Required every other weekend, with both Saturday and Sunday coverage. Each shift is 8 hours, scheduled between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM (clinician’s local time), with a rotation between day and evening shifts.
  • Holiday Shifts: 3 per calendar year.
