  • Experience defining and preparing scope of work, reviewing, and approving consultant designs and studies (e.g., Traffic Impact Studies, Diversions Design, Traffic Control Plans, Traffic Lights Design)
  • Proficiency in setting up and following delivery schedules according to budget
  • Strong coordination and consultation skills with internal departments (Communication, Construction, Technical Services, Utilities)
  • Ability to consult and coordinate Traffic Control Plans with BC third parties, Local Police, Fire Fighting Departments, and Emergency Services
  • Experience consulting with local Municipalities and Stakeholders on traffic management, safety, and community impacts
  • Skills in presenting Traffic Management activities and look-aheads in general consultation meetings
  • Knowledge of preparing descriptions of closures, detours, etc., for Design & Construction Reports (DCR’s)
  • Capability to develop, update, and submit Initial Traffic Management Plan & Sub-plans, and Project Agreement Deliverables
  • 24/7 availability for managing incidents and emergency situations
  • Ability to ensure road safety under all conditions and monitor maintenance costs within budget
  • Experience managing winter/snow maintenance contracts and developing Winter (Snow) Maintenance Plans and other Area Management Maintenance Plans
  • Skills in analyzing traffic deviations for project execution and providing traffic guidance systems
  • Proficiency in coordinating provisional traffic changes with authorities
  • Expertise in managing and optimizing traffic controllers per legal normative
  • Ability to revise all equipment and traffic materials, including traffic signs

Responsibilities

  • Manage traffic plans at the beginning of the Project, and develop, implement, and manage the Traffic Management Plan
  • Monitor, analyze, and implement necessary modifications to the Traffic
  • Ensure the Province is kept informed of all upcoming traffic activities and any revisions to the Traffic Management Plan
  • Ensure appropriate modifications are made to the Traffic Management Plan if specified traffic control measures are not achieving the desired effect
  • Coordinate with adjacent work areas, including work being carried out by others
  • Define and prepare scope of work and review and approve consultant design and studies related to Traffic Management during Construction (Traffic Impact Studies, Diversions Design, Traffic Control Plans, Traffic Lights Design)
  • Set up schedule for deliveries and follow it up regularly according to the budget
  • Coordinate and consult extensively with other departments within the organization (Communication, Construction, Technical Services, Utilities)
  • Consult and coordinate Traffic Control Plans development & implementation with BC third parties, Local Police, Fire Fighting Departments, and Emergency Services
  • Consult with local Municipalities Stakeholders in matters related to traffic management, safety, and impacts on local communities

  • Provide traffic guidance system for any traffic change and coordinate provisional changes with appropriate authorities
  • Manage and optimize traffic controllers to maximize resources according to existing legal normative
  • Revise all equipment and traffic materials, including traffic signs
