Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Commerce or a Post-Graduation/MBA in International Trade from a reputable institution. A minimum of 5-9 years of experience in International Trade and Policy & Compliance is required, with prior experience in EOU and SEZ operations being preferred. The role demands up-to-date knowledge of Customs, DGFT, MIT, and BIS notifications, along with an understanding of the complexity of Customs Rules and Regulations. Strong analytical and communication skills are necessary for liaising with consultants and government officials, as well as for collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

The Trade Compliance Planner will manage daily Export and Import operations to ensure productivity and compliance with Indian and US rules and regulations, including those from Customs, DGFT, MEIT, BIS, and LMA. This involves following SOPs, best practices, and KPIs, conducting quarterly audits, and updating SOPs based on findings. Responsibilities include leveraging concessional duty benefit schemes from Foreign Trade Policies, establishing Advance Authorizations, managing broker relationships with clear KPIs, and coordinating with AP and Global Transportation teams to minimize transit times. The role also entails establishing SOPs for EXIM activities to comply with origin and destination controls, setting up processes for HSS, SIB, SEZ, and EOU businesses, and managing government queries, hearings, and SCNs. Additionally, the planner will maintain matrix communication with various departments, undertake Six Sigma projects for cost and time savings in EXIM, conduct MBR/QBRs to enhance operations, and ensure IEC, RCMC, and EOU documentation are up-to-date.
