Responsibilities

  • Attend trainings on Customs and Free Trade Agreements topics to remain informed
  • Solicit declarations of origin to Brazilian suppliers for production and service parts for GM Brazil
  • Analyze Mexico imports to determine preference Free Trade Agreement (FTA) eligibility
  • Solicit certificates of origin (ACE55) for parts imported into Mexico from GM Brazil
  • Solicit certificates of origin (ACE55) for parts imported to Mexico from different Brazilian suppliers
  • Solicit certificates of origin for various FTAs (TLCG2, CAFTCA, AP, etc.) for South America, Central America, and others
  • Create weekly reports and identify non-eligible parts
  • Operationally execute and support GM Mexico and GM Brazil Customs methodologies
  • Provide timely and accurate updates on workload as part of status reporting
  • Maintain direct communication with GM Mexico and GM Brazil Customs teams
  • Produce schedules, reports, analysis, and other work-products as required
  • Prepare analysis on part number solicitation for GM Mexico or GM Brazil correctly and timely, based on set standards, methodologies, compliance requirements, and internal controls; serve as repository of expertise
  • Ensure compliance with GM Corporate policies and external regulatory requirements
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Interact with internal/external related parties
  • Bring any issues (accounting or control related) forward immediately
  • Present to Senior Leadership and consolidate information clearly
  • Accomplish assigned tasks with minimum supervision
  • Focus on process improvements to drive quality accounting and compliance
  • Have frequent contact with others outside of work group to accomplish tasks
  • Lead special projects (including LEAN/Six Sigma activities)
  • Research issues and provide appropriate resolution; pursue open issues to resolution
