Requirements

  • Possess a commercial driver’s license (CDL A) with tractor-trailer and air brake endorsements
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience operating a tractor-trailer with a non-synchronized manual transmission
  • Full knowledge of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations and safety regulations
  • Ability to satisfactorily demonstrate both pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Proficiency in cargo securement techniques
  • No requirement for immigration sponsorship (must not need company involvement for work authorization, e.g., H-1B, OPT, etc.)
  • Ability to obtain forklift certifications for several forklift classifications
  • Pass an assessment administered by the Eversource Energy Transportation and Training Departments
  • Available for emergency overtime, including storm events and emergent requests

Responsibilities

  • Operate flatbed and box tractor-trailers as well as straight trucks
  • Work directly with customers delivering to substations and other job sites as well as storeroom deliveries
  • Work with the entire Materials Logistics team, including other drivers, stock handlers, analysts, administrative support, and supervision
  • Respond to emergency situations, including Emergency Restoration assignments outside normal responsibilities, work hours, and location
