Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or greater in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 2+ years designing complex manufacturing or assembly tooling
  • Strong fundamentals in core engineering concepts, including statics, solid mechanics, and machine design
  • Proven experience with tooling development and the entirety of the product life cycle
  • Proficiency with CAD and finite element analysis software, such as Siemens NX and FEMAP
  • Proven experience developing innovative solutions on a range of mechanical problems
  • U.S. Person status (U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, or certain protected classes of asylees and refugees)

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and validate both manufacturing and assembly tooling to support the Corsair & Mirage product lines
  • Interface with design and manufacturing engineering to ensure tooling design meets the hardware design requirements and supports full rate production
  • Evaluate mechanical designs for potential flaws and offer modifications to eliminate potential problems
  • Prepare assembly or product layout and detailed drawings applying GD&T, and participate in the manufacture or building of tooling
  • Analyze tooling designs using hand calculations and finite element models
  • Develop validation plans for tooling to ensure requirements are satisfied
  • Ensure that design implementation, test, and maintenance methods/processes are developed and executed in a manner that supports company quality standards
