Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is an added advantage
  • Proven experience in pharmaceutical sales or a similar role, minimum 2-5 years
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth (MNC experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of Diabetes and metabolic therapeutic areas and product segment is preferred
  • New launch experience preferred
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of compliance and ethical standards within the pharmaceutical industry and knowledge of external ethics code
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory
  • Sense of urgency, enthusiasm, drive and a desire “to make a difference”

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets and increase market share
  • Identify and establish new business opportunities within the assigned territory
  • Develop a detailed territory action plan for the portfolio by making strategic decisions about goals. Monitor and measure the plan
  • Update target list from the universal list provided by sales operations and prepare a retail call list for important pharmacies
  • Establish and uphold effective and ethical interactions with stakeholders such as healthcare professionals, pharmacists, and other medical staff
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition and therapeutic benefits of Lilly medicines to healthcare professionals using Value Based Selling Principles and by using aids provided by Marketing
  • Provide scientific support and respond to inquiries from healthcare professionals, addressing their concerns and providing accurate information
  • Prepare and submit regular sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis to the sales manager
  • Execute HCP meetings to disseminate efficacy and safety data about Lilly medicines to ensure appropriate usage for right patients, attend industry conferences and other events to promote our medicines. Steer all related logistics and coordination as per guidance from Marketing
  • Conduct Pharmacy Awareness Programs and Nurses awareness programs to upgrade their knowledge ensuring right dispensing and usage of Lilly medicines
  • Interact with stockists to ensure availability of Lilly medicines, gather information to analyse sales trends and conduct physical stock verification at the Stockist
  • Act in accordance with internal procedures and external industry code (UCPMP- Uniform Code of Pharmaceutical Marketing Practices). Respect the highest ethical standards of Lilly and of the communities where Lilly does business
