Requirements

  • Act as a role model demonstrating genuine care and setting standards for the pharmacy team
  • Exhibit best practices when working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing meaningful patient counseling, and abiding by legal and regulatory guidelines
  • Lead and develop a pharmacy team, including onboarding new hires and recognizing colleagues
  • Ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations at all times
  • Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a talent pipeline of cross-trained colleagues
  • Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists (where applicable), including performance management and annual reviews

Responsibilities

  • Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
  • Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, providing effective coaching and follow-up to strengthen performance measures
  • Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing adherence to pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving insurance/medication issues; coach the team accordingly
  • Proactively offer and deliver immunizations, and support Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize
  • Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching best practices, with focus on cold chain products
  • Conduct onboarding and training for new Technicians and Pharmacists on CVS workflow, ensuring timely completion of training/licensure
  • Escalate compliance issues to the Rx DL as needed
  • Manage performance of pharmacy team through observation, feedback, and validation, including delivering annual reviews and closing gaps
