Requirements

  • Willing and able to perform physical requirements: standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting (up to 40-50 lbs or more), in cold, damp, hot, humid environments with slippery surfaces
  • Certified by Zoetis to mix vaccine and operate equipment
  • Must wear all required PPE
  • Willing to shower, change clothing and footwear for biosecure environment; no jewelry except medical ID
  • Willing to sign agreement to avoid avian species and abide by Company Biosecurity and Animal Welfare Guidelines
  • Trained to recognize and comply with all Safety procedures
  • Able to fill in for 2nd shift Embrex Lead (early mornings, late nights), including mixing vaccine, operating/troubleshooting Inovoject machine, strict sanitation
  • Rehire criteria: minimum 180-day waiting period, no more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods

Responsibilities

  • Assist Supervisor in coordinating daily department responsibilities, communicating instructions to team members, ensuring timely and correct execution
  • Monitor equipment for proper function, notify Supervisor of maintenance needs, maintain safe work environment, adhere to Tyson policies/procedures
  • Set up lines prior to startup: mix and hang vaccine bags, put boxes on line
  • Check hatchers to determine chick pull order
  • Monitor flock changes, track box counts, place boxes by flock source for delivery
  • Count boxes, record by flock for hatch percentage
  • Write mortality cards, chick tickets, count boxes, communicate load schedule to drivers/growers
  • Complete daily breakouts of egg residue by flock
  • Mix vaccine spray for cabinet and Embrex Inovo, maintain vaccine logs
  • Perform daily/weekly vaccine inventories
  • Perform weekly plate samples for sanitation scores, weekly inventory of plates
  • Assign duties to production crew at start of morning chick processing, supervise crew
  • Monitor equipment and perform other duties as needed
  • Perform all daily checks (production area, separator room, tray wash, setter/hatcher halls), enter on Plant View
  • Perform egg pack and moisture loss checks
  • All other duties as assigned by management
