Strong communication skills
Ability to effectively translate functional business requirements (user stories) and non-functional requirements to technology teams
Data exploration and analysis skills (e.g., SQL)
Experience working on a scrum team in an agile environment
Strong experience in facilitating mapping sessions to analyze current state, gather requirements for future state, and gap analysis
Experience facilitating and driving technical and non-technical initiatives with a continuous improvement mindset
Experience in Maximo (work and asset management) or regulated utility industry (strongly preferred)
Experience with Jira, ServiceNow (preferred)
Responsibilities
Use business analysis techniques and tools for use case modeling, data modeling, process mapping, and testing
Learn new domains by collaborating with business and technical teams
Understand and apply technology solutions by translating business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models, and basic system configuration
Manage business unit relationships and oversee the entire life cycle of information technology investments in systems for a department
Use multiple techniques for requirements elicitation and document creation, establish business capabilities, and ensure asset organization and refinement
Lead or participate in process redesign and support activities, including using tools, responding to user questions, problem diagnosis, recognition and solutions for process improvements, research, troubleshooting, tracking, and resolution
Research best practices to develop innovative solutions for complex process improvement efforts or business needs
Develop and implement business analysis standards and ensure compliance with standards
Create and communicate capabilities and scope plans to all levels of business and technical staff
Provide training, mentoring, and work direction to others on the team
Work within Waterfall or Agile frameworks, collaborating with technology and business partners to deliver consistent, reliable technology solutions leveraging AEP's standards, architectures, and best practices
Independently perform intermediate to advanced business and project analysis for medium to large projects
