Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of driving experience in a similar role
  • HazMat training and certification
  • Minimum of 6 months employee supervision or management experience
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License Class B (CDL B) and a clean driving record
  • Experience with routine vehicle maintenance
  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel)
  • Strong communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Familiarity with Universal Precautions and general laboratory procedures
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 50 lbs, push loads of up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to work in cold settings for prolonged durations and adapt to diverse environments (e.g., dry ice, liquid nitrogen cryogenics, hazardous materials)
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance

Responsibilities

  • Acquire assignments, prepare paperwork, and inspect equipment prior to departure
  • Safely transport biological materials, maintaining required temperatures
  • Daily supervision and training of other drivers, ensuring adherence to SOPs and safety guidelines
