  • Fulfills all duties of a Sr. Sample Coordinator (receipt, accessioning, routing, storage, aliquoting, shipping, discard, destruction, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Oversees, coordinates, and develops technical training needs of sample coordinators
  • Mentors and assesses staff through daily duties
  • Oversees scheduling of sample management staff and assists management with department oversight
  • Performs Sample Coordinator functions including oversight and performance of complex standard tasks
  • Acts as back-up in absence of management
  • Acts as technical liaison for project-specific sample-management procedures
  • Actively trains, mentors, and assesses needs of sample management staff
  • Manages staff training documents, assessments, and records
  • Responds to environmental unit alarms and participates in on-call responsibilities
  • Performs work assignments accurately, timely, and safely
  • Makes recommendations for solutions and/or new procedures
  • May act as facilitator and/or team leader (formal or informal)
