Position Overview

Deel is seeking a Team Lead, Payroll Operations to join our dynamic team. This is a player-coach role where you will manage a team of Payroll Specialists while actively contributing to payroll execution for multiple customers and entities. You will be instrumental in driving process improvements, maintaining key relationships, and ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for assigned customers and provide expert guidance to team members.
• Lead and mentor a team of Payroll Specialists to ensure timely and compliant payroll delivery.
• Implement and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and controls.
• Analyze payroll data to identify opportunities for process enhancement and drive improvements.
• Deliver training and communication to internal teams regarding payroll processes.
• Manage relationships with payroll vendors and tax authorities to ensure timely filings and payments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience processing payroll for multiple entities.
• Strong working knowledge of local payroll and HR regulations.
• Experience with local payroll systems and vendor management.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working cross-functionally.
• People management experience is a bonus.
