Requirements

  • BA degree in accounting or CPA, MST or working towards a CPA or MST preferred
  • A minimum of 3-5 years financial services experience with exposure to the taxation of financial products and hedge/mutual funds or investment companies
  • Knowledge of fixed income securities, derivatives and complex financial instruments
  • Proficient with software, including advanced MS Excel
  • Knowledge of Total Return accounting system (an SS&C Globe-Op platform), Brightline, K1x, Alteryx, and/or Workday are a plus
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to work with a diverse group of internal and external resources, in a challenging, fast-paced setting

Responsibilities

  • Computations of partnership taxable income, partnership book and tax allocations, tax estimates, Schedule K-1s and tax returns
  • Forms 926, 8621, 8858, 8865, 8886, 5471, and W-8 as well as any other required tax filings
  • ASC 740 Uncertain Tax Position
  • Monthly NRA Withholding
  • The month-end close process and production of reconciliations related to balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Analyze and identify book-to-tax differences including wash sales, PFICs, bond bifurcation, and accretion/amortization of discount/premium
  • Document tax and accounting policies
  • Assess and evaluate reporting processes and systems to ensure they are efficient and effective. Work with internal technical resources to enhance existing processes and develop new systems as required
  • Additional responsibilities may include researching and implementing operational improvements, ad hoc analysis and special projects
