Requirements

  • United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance (e.g., Active TS/SCI with agency appropriate polygraph)
  • Fourteen (14) years' experience as a Systems Engineer (SE) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university (five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree)

Responsibilities

  • Analyze user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications
  • Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities
  • Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies
  • Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology
  • Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations
  • Develop technical documentation, including system architecture and system design documentation
  • Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans
  • Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts
  • Ensure ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility
  • Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives
  • Administer Linux and Windows systems, troubleshoot issues, load software, and configure RF system networks; understand RF and collection systems, including data flow and operational dependencies
  • Apply networking expertise to support Tactical SIGINT and FORNSAT missions; maintain and optimize data collection and transmission systems in operational environments
  • Support the organization's information assurance program, enforcing security policies and standards; conduct vulnerability assessments and manage day-to-day security operations
  • Prepare and review System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, and C&A packages; ensure compliance with NISCAP and DoD RMF processes
  • Provide configuration management for security software, hardware, and firmware; assess and manage the security impact of system changes
  • Develop and manage system requirements aligned with DoDAF and SOA architectures; allocate functional requirements across hardware, software, and personnel components
  • Define verification methods and evaluation criteria for systems and subsystems; conduct risk assessments and plan verification efforts early in the development lifecycle
  • Coordinate system integration across teams, ensuring interface coverage and baseline integrity; oversee system evolution from development through deployment and maintenance
