Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field, such as Biology, Chemistry, or a related discipline, and have a strong understanding of Surgical Ophthalmology, including anterior and posterior segments. Demonstrated experience in scientific exchange and KOL relationship management is essential, along with the ability to develop and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with Medical Experts and Key Opinion Leaders. Knowledge of Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs) and experience in liaising between researchers and pharmaceutical companies is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

The Surgical Medical Science Liaison will foster KOL/HCP interest and engagement in data generation through IITs, deliver effective medical presentations to ECPs, and collect and report insights. They will strategically develop and maintain peer-to-peer scientific relationships with KOLs and decision-makers to expand evidence generation through scientific partnership opportunities, and gain their advocacy. The MSL will also provide medical information to practitioners and internal associates, respond to requests for medical information, and ensure the timely and compliant dissemination of clinical and scientific information regarding Alcon products. Furthermore, they will identify and engage with national, regional, and local KOLs, liaise with healthcare associations, and provide support for making healthcare coverage and access decisions, ultimately contributing to the development of company plans and brand strategies.
