Senior Accountant

Position Overview

Platform Science is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our expanding team. This role offers a significant opportunity for career advancement and skill development in accounting, encompassing transactional work related to eCommerce, cross-functional collaboration, and bookkeeping and account reconciliation tasks. This is a remote position reporting to an Accounting Manager.

Essential Responsibilities

• eCommerce Customer Accounts:
  • Ensure accurate customer data for financial transactions and customer support.
  • Update customer records as needed.
  • Provide historical sales information to customers upon request.
• eCommerce Accounting:
  • Manage the financial operations of online sales and monthly reporting.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in revenue reporting, sales tax, ASC 606 reporting, and financial reporting.
• Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all eCommerce transactions.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is included in NetSuite when recording journal entries.
• Reporting and Month-End:
  • Assist with monthly eCommerce revenue accounting to ensure all sales are recorded accurately, reported to the correct accounts, and within the correct periods.
• Cash Applications:
  • Accurately and efficiently handle cash applications using established procedures.
  • Reconcile all cash applications to completion.
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or irregularities in cash applications.
  • Engage with customers and the credit department for clarification on payment details as necessary.
• Communication:
  • Interact with customers and internal departments regarding sales and account update inquiries.
• Account Reconciliations:
  • Reconcile various accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Special Projects:
  • Assist with various accounting projects and tasks as needed by the accounting department.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a related field.
• Working experience with NetSuite is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with cross-functional collaboration is preferred.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Compensation

• Salary Range: $29.81 - $42.18 per hour (estimated)

Compensation is determined by factors including skill set, experience, training, certifications, business needs, market demand, and location. This range is subject to change.
