Requirements

  • 6 months – 1 year of experience with various types of masking (Ex: Paint, Blasting, Autobody, Plating, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and follow work instructions and accurately document processes and findings
  • Some previous exposure to the use of measuring gages

Responsibilities

  • Mask components as required to protect surfaces from subsequent operations
  • Apply tape by hand on areas to be masked
  • Apply hard masking such as caps and shields by following documented work instructions
  • Trim masking using knives, razor blades, or other sharp tools. Trim masking in accordance with detailed work instructions to precise dimensions
  • Inspect work for completion and quality
  • Follow written work instructions accurately including work and shop drawings
  • Routinely use overhead cranes to position parts
  • Organize components staged in your department to support a more efficient schedule
