Responsibilities

  • Ensures suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services
  • Qualifies suppliers according to company standards and may administer a Certified Supplier Program in receiving inspection for cost effectiveness
  • Monitors parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle and communicates/resolves supplier-related problems as they occur
  • Develops and prioritizes an auditing schedule to ensure designated suppliers are audited regularly for GMP and quality standards
  • Evaluates suppliers' internal functions to assess overall performance and provides feedback
  • (For some roles) Provides Pre-Market Quality Engineering support to New Product Development (NPD) in partnership with Component Engineering and Post-Market Supplier Quality Teams to deliver quality parts, prevent defects, and ensure reliable products
  • (For some roles) Provides technical guidance and quality compliance for Supplier Quality engagement throughout the NPD lifecycle on newly qualified parts, implementing strategies for product quality and continuous improvement per industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements
  • (For some roles) Collaborates with Component Engineers to develop Product Acceptance Sampling Strategy, Approved Supplier List coordination, Supplier Owned Quality deployment, and Control Plans for new products
  • (For some roles) Defines Receiving Inspection requirements and associated test method validation for internal Medtronic Test Methods
  • Formulates, delivers, and/or manages assigned projects; works with stakeholders to achieve results; may mentor colleagues or direct lower-level professionals
  • Delivers R&D, systems, or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies from design to implementation
