Authorization to work in the United States (no sponsorship for work visas)
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline or equivalent experience
Minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in Transmission, Distribution and/or Field Service design and/or installation, servicing customers
Knowledge of Field Engineering (Relay & Test) operations, maintenance, and construction principles and practices, safety standards and business processes
Excellent communication skills, ability to present theory and concepts, as well as hands-on technical instruction with clarity, confidence and enthusiasm
Leadership and coaching abilities
Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g. Microsoft Word & Excel)
Working knowledge of labor contracts
Massachusetts Driver’s License, D.O.T. preferred
Availability to work emergency restoration assignments as required
Availability to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
Responsibilities
Develops and delivers technical training programs to ensure the safe and effective performance and skill building of Field Engineering and Field Communications employees, including classroom, lab, conceptual, and hands-on instructional methods
Maintain training materials and facilities
Remain abreast of and enforce Safety policies and procedures, approved work practices, use of new tools and equipment, and ongoing revision of standards and procedures
Conduct quality assurance audits, evaluation, certification, and supervision of field employees
Work with field personnel and supervisors to analyze job tasks and current field performance to determine training needs and program content
Effectively implement training programs and field quality audit programs
Supervise, direct and instruct trainees during classroom, hands-on and on-the-job training assignments
Evaluate performance during training and follow up on students’ learning through field visits, observations and refresher training
Provide updates and incorporate new procedures and revisions into training programs
Review work with vendors, technical experts, engineers, field personnel to provide operational input into the selection and operation of new equipment and development of new construction standards
Respond to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs, including emergency restoration assignments outside normal responsibilities, work hours and location
