Requirements

Candidates should have at least 7 years of experience in software engineering, especially with web-scale traffic, and at least 2 years of engineering management experience. They possess a strong understanding of high-quality code and effective software engineering processes, an execution-focused mindset, and the ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with short-term planning. Experience in creating, delivering, and operating multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale is required, along with the ability to be hands-on when needed, including writing/reviewing code, participating in on-call rotations, and leading incidents. A passion for building an open financial system is also desired, along with experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services over time, a high bar for product excellence, and familiarity with industry standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

The Engineering Manager will build and manage full-stack engineering teams to guide the development of features, services, and infrastructure across web and mobile platforms. They will coach direct reports to have a positive impact on the organization and support their career growth, collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to translate vision into a roadmap, break down complex projects, and foster a culture of high-quality code. They will also collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure successful delivery, work closely with the talent organization to recruit exceptional engineers, contribute to and take ownership of engineering quality processes, power performant systems for traders, architect robust systems, and translate ideas into tangible features.
