Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience
Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience
Experience in the operation and maintenance of substation facilities (preferred)
Previous supervisory experience (preferred)
Thorough knowledge of applicable work practices, procedures, and safety requirements
Detailed knowledge of power system maintenance and operation
Valid motor vehicle operator’s license; valid CDL preferred
No requirement for immigration sponsorship
Availability for off-hour on-call (rotational), shift work including weekends, emergency restoration, travel between MA/CT/NH, and long hours in varied outdoor conditions
Responsibilities
Supervise crews in construction and maintenance activities for T&D substations
Coordinate maintenance and construction of assigned assets by arranging staffing, materials, and equipment with other sections (e.g., Maintenance, Field Communications/Engineering, Control Centers, contractors) per schedules and methods
Ensure reliability and condition of substation assets
Analyze maintenance data and input it accurately into company database
Provide leadership for construction, maintenance, and repair of substation equipment
Analyze historical inspection, maintenance, test, and operational data to establish maintenance requirements
Actively promote and enforce a safety-first work environment and positive safety culture
Set clear expectations, provide ongoing feedback, address performance issues, and conduct performance reviews per bargaining unit contract
Apply local union contracts and agreements; resolve grievances and concerns with managers and employees
Direct safety awareness and compliance initiatives; monitor safety performance and champion safe work practices
Demonstrate customer-first attitude; resolve customer issues by collaborating with employees and departments
Engage and motivate employees to deliver best customer experience
