Responsibilities

  • Manages the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities
  • Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials, and other related costs
  • Designs and develops organizational policies relevant to the facilities department
  • Oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services, and facilities expansion
  • May establish and oversee health and safety standards
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure efficient operation of the function
  • Oversees area of responsibility, manages performance, develops talent, engagement, and inclusion
  • Communicates business and operational developments, plans, prioritizes, and/or directs responsibilities of direct reports
  • Communicates with internal and external customers and vendors across various levels, shares information to reach solutions, and gains cooperation
  • Manages day-to-day elements of the budget (e.g., overtime for staff)
