Working knowledge of methods, work practices, and procedures regarding the safe construction, operation, and maintenance of electric T&D facilities and infrastructure and/or metering operations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong knowledge of computers and related technology, with ability to learn and utilize available information technologies
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience
Five (5) plus years of related experience
Previous experience in electric distribution or meter operations preferred
Previous experience in a supervisory role preferred
Responsibilities
Ensure safe, timely, and efficient completion of work efforts relating to AMI network and AMI meter deployments
Coordinate effectively among individuals, departments, and vendors
Promote and enforce a safety-first work environment and positive safety culture
Set safety expectations with employees and vendors, resolve safety issues timely, communicate safety lessons learned, and promote continuous learning of safe work methods
Make decisions and prioritize work to ensure safe and appropriate use of assigned resources
Participate in pre-construction reviews and coordinate work with other utilities, Eversource departments, and outside contractors
Ensure work is completed within budgetary guidelines
Prepare, review, and approve time, expense, materials, and other company records accurately and timely
Demonstrate and role model a customer-first attitude, resolving customer issues through collaboration
Serve as subject matter expert for AMI network and meter deployment, with strong understanding of AMI technology and staying current with developments
Fulfill storm duty assignments
Continuously monitor the work planning process from initiation to close out
Serve as primary construction liaison with Customer Care, AMI operations, installation vendors, field resources, municipalities, and other utilities
Ensure all job packages are construction ready and material availability meets construction schedules
Analyze and control company financial budget (operations, maintenance, materials, overtime, capital costs) and recommend opportunities to achieve financial goals
Drive innovation and change in business processes through continuous process improvement efforts
Prepare weekly/monthly status reports highlighting key performance metrics for AMI Deployment
Recommend and oversee training programs for AMI deployment activities
Oversee contractors and provide management for selected projects
