Requirements

  • 5+ years of heavy civil construction experience (DOT highway preferred, based on context)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily project work activities, acting as the liaison between engineering, estimating, field operations, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with GDOT and SR400 Constructors standards
  • Plan and sequence work methods, equipment, materials, and labor resources to meet production and safety requirements
  • Conduct daily and weekly work planning meetings with crews; document work progress and field notes using project-approved reporting systems
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project phasing plans; communicate work hazards and ensure site-specific safety plans are followed
  • Coordinate with internal equipment teams, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure proper resources are in place to meet production and budget targets
  • Anticipate and mitigate schedule risks; provide technical recommendations for alternative work methods and constructability solutions
  • Ensure compliance with federal wage and hour requirements, including certified payrolls, prevailing wage rules, and subcontractor compliance monitoring
  • Support and enforce SR400 Constructors’ Safety Program, GDOT requirements, and project-specific quality control plans
  • Supervise and evaluate craft employees and subcontractor crews, providing feedback, coaching, and training recommendations
  • Coordinate inspections, punch lists, and project closeout activities with project management and GDOT representatives
  • Uphold SR400 Constructors’ values of safety, quality, integrity, and teamwork
  • Direct supervision of craft workers, subcontractors, and foremen for assigned project scopes
  • Responsible for workforce planning, coaching, performance feedback, and compliance with company policies, GDOT specifications, and federal labor requirements
