Requirements

  • Enrolled or recently graduated from a BS/BA degree program, preferably in art, music, dance, recreation, or other therapies
  • Successful completion of all Rogers onboarding training coursework prior to start
  • Formal training in the management of the aggressive patient (NCI) within sixty (60) days of placement, with annual re-certification
  • Successful completion of pre-placement background checks through the Rogers system
  • Successful occupational health clearance from your provider

Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, implement, facilitate, direct, and evaluate experiential therapy programming in all specialized treatment areas
  • Apply working knowledge of psychosocial functioning of patient/resident groups and expressive activities (e.g., adventure-based/environmental activities, sports, dance, group initiatives, arts/crafts, music, outdoor activities, art media, psychodrama, horticulture, ropes, challenge course) within a psychiatric setting
  • Evaluate, plan, and coordinate experiential programming
  • Complete documentation or treatment according to Rogers policy
  • Establish a therapeutic rapport with patient/resident groups while maintaining appropriate, professional relationships
  • May include duties of cognitive behavioral therapies in addition to social services, per program description and in partnership with university
