Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced sourcing professional to manage and advise on sourcing and contracting processes within the IT Hardware, IaaS, and Hardware and Software Maintenance and Support categories. This role involves developing category strategies, managing RFx processes, negotiating with suppliers, and driving year-over-year savings on significant spend.

Requirements

  • Experience: 7+ years of sourcing experience in IT hardware, IaaS, and global support/maintenance services categories.
  • Supplier Knowledge: Experience working with industry-leading suppliers such as Dell, Cisco, Juniper, IBM, Apple, Lenovo, and value-added resellers.
  • Category Expertise:
    • Experience working within the client and peripherals/consumables sourcing category.
    • Knowledge of hardware leasing (e.g., printers, MFP devices, laptops).
  • AI Integration: Experience leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI’s potential impact on the function or industry.
  • Process Knowledge:
    • Knowledge of purchasing and supply chain processes, with an analytical and results-focused approach.
    • Experience with RFx processes, contract processes, and sourcing best practices.
  • Skills:
    • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of crafting negotiation strategies and achieving optimal results.
    • First-class professional and interpersonal communication skills for collaboration with internal and external relationships at all levels and across all cross-functional disciplines.
    • Excellent organization and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Category Management and Contract Execution:
    • Partner with internal (commercial and technical) stakeholders to clarify short and long-term IT hardware, IaaS, and global support/maintenance sourcing requirements.
    • Lead the development of supplier negotiation strategies.
    • Own opportunity assessment and initiation through contract execution.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    • Lead commercial and contractual requirements across ServiceNow’s IT Hardware supplier profile.
    • Craft unique supplier strategies that align with stakeholder requirements.
  • RFx Management:
    • Serve as the supplier interface for all RFI, RFP, and RFQs.
    • Conduct Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modeling of RFx proposals.
    • Present RFx results to stakeholders and drive towards the closure of a sourcing decision.
  • Competitive Benchmarking and Market Research:
    • Stay up-to-date on IT Hardware and IaaS market dynamics to ensure proper category management.
    • Guide stakeholders on changes in market dynamics.
  • Sustainability Initiatives:
    • Collaborate with internal Sustainability teams to support Sustainability requirements with suppliers.
    • Drive suppliers towards improving Sustainability efforts.
  • Demand Forecasting: Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
  • Industry Knowledge: Actively seek out industry knowledge through research, trade shows, conferences, and online training, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor.
  • Supplier Analysis: Conduct supplier analysis, evaluate potential suppliers, and support the overall supplier qualification process.
  • Savings Drive: Drive best-value supplier selection to achieve year-over-year savings on over $600M in spend.
  • Strategy Development: Develop and create sourcing plans, hardware category strategies, requests for proposal, and other sourcing strategies.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Partner with key stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
