Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years prior retail management experience (preferred)
  • Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise; BIG BOX experience a plus (preferred)
  • Strong productivity management in freight processing (required)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills (required)
  • Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment (required)
  • Ability to lift between 30 to 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation (required)
  • Natural leadership skills and ability to inspire teams to deliver exceptional customer service

Responsibilities

  • Engage in on-the-job training to learn how to manage profitable store operations, maintaining high standards for merchandising, placement, store signage, and display techniques to create an inviting atmosphere
  • Recruit and hire store associates to serve customers
  • Foster the growth and development of associates through training on operations and merchandising, while coaching and correcting when appropriate
  • Oversee and delegate all store activities to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, while enforcing company policies and procedures
  • Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
  • Implement operational and merchandising direction communicated from corporate headquarters
  • Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution
  • Protect company assets
  • Maintain a high level of customer service across the store
  • Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders
