Candidates should possess 10+ years of software engineering experience, with significant experience operating mission-critical systems. Strong backend software development skills in languages such as Go, Java, Rust, or Python are required, along with expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure), Kubernetes, service mesh, and container orchestration. A strong understanding of security domains including IAM, OAuth2, OIDC, PKI, secrets management, policy engines, audit pipelines, and zero trust architecture is essential. Experience in building highly reliable, observable, and resilient production systems, along with operational expertise in SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, on-call leadership, and incident management, is necessary. Excellent collaboration and communication skills are also required to influence technical and business leaders.
The Staff Software Engineer will architect, build, and operate security services core to the company's cloud infrastructure and product platforms. This includes designing highly scalable security services such as authentication, authorization, identity, secrets management, and security telemetry pipelines, while ensuring their reliability, observability, and resilience. Responsibilities also involve building automation and tooling for self-healing systems and proactive risk detection, collaborating with compliance and governance teams to translate regulatory requirements into technical controls, leading technical and security architecture reviews, and mentoring engineers on security and operational best practices. The role entails owning the end-to-end delivery of services from design through lifecycle maintenance.
